प्रधानमंत्री मोदी अपने निर्धारित कार्यक्रम के तहत 12 अक्टूबर को सुबह 8.45 बजे हेलीकॉप्टर से पिथौरागढ़ जनपद में ज्योलिंगकांग हेलीपैड पर उतरे। यहां से दाहिनी ओर करीब डेढ़ किमी की दूरी कार से तय करते हुए हिमालय की चोटी पर स्थित पार्वती सरोवर और शिव मंदिर पहुॅचे। करीब 25 मिनट तक शिव की पूजा और ध्यान किया। आदि कैलाश मंदिर में रं-समुदाय के लामा पुजारियों ने पौराणिक काल से प्रसिद्ध शिव-पार्वती की ‘माटी पूजा’ पूरे विधि विधान के साथ संपन्न की।
इसके बाद पीएम मोदी ने आदि कैलाश पर्वत और पार्वती सरोवर के दर्शन भी किए। आदि कैलाश और पार्वती सरोवर के दर्शन कर प्रधानमंत्री अभीभूत हो उठे। उन्होंने कहा कि आदि कैलाश के दर्शन कर उनका मन प्रसन्न और जीवन धन्य हो गया। प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि उत्तराखंड देव भूमि है। यहां कण-कण में देवी देवताओं का वास है। भगवान आदि कैलाश के दर्शन कर उन्हें परम आनंद की अनुभूति हुई है। उन्होंने कहा कि देवभूमि के मंदिर आस्था ही नही आर्थिकी का भी केंद्र हैं। इन मंदिरों से हजारों लोगों की आर्थिकी प्रत्यक्ष और परोक्ष रूप से जुड़ी है। धार्मिक पर्यटन को बढ़ावा देने के लिए सभी मंदिरों को एक सर्किट के रूप में विकसित किया जा रहा है। इस दौरान मुख्यमंत्री ने प्रधानमंत्री को आदि कैलाश और आसपास के क्षेत्र के बारे जानकारी दी।
प्रधानमंत्री के भ्रमण से चीन सीमा पर तैनात सेना के जवानों के साथ ही सीमा पर बसे गांव कुटी, नाबि, रोंगकांग, गुंजी, नपल्चयू, गर्व्यांग, बूंदी के ग्रामीणों में गजब उत्साह देखने को मिला। आदि कैलाश के दर्शन करने के बाद पीएम मोदी ज्योलिंगकांग हैलीपेड से गुंजी के लिए रवाना हुए।
