देहरादून। कर्मभूमि फाउंडेशन का ‘द्वितीय पंडित भैरवदत्त पत्रकार पुरस्कार समारोह 19 मई को लैन्सडाउन में आयोजित किया जाएगा । इस पुरस्कार मे 1,000,00/- (रुपया एक लाख ) की धनराशि, प्रशंसनीय पत्र एवं शॉल भेंट किया जाता है ।
भैरव दत्त धूलिया उत्तराखंड के अग्रिम स्वतन्त्रता सेनानियों मे से थे । उन्होंने आजादी के आंदोलन में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई और कई वर्ष जेल में रहे । उन्होंने अपने साथियों के साथ मिलकर कर्मभूमि साप्ताहिक अखबार की स्थापना 1939 में की। उन्होंने 1988 तक अखबार का स्वतंत्र सम्पादन किया।
कर्मभूमि अपने संपादकीय से जाना जाता था और अपनी निष्पक्षता, स्वतन्त्रता एवं निर्भीकता के लिए प्रचलित था । अपने समय मे वह गढ़वाल की आवाज़ बन गया था ।
भैरव दत्त धूलिया जी ने 1967 का विधान सभा चुनाव एक निर्दलीय उम्मीदवार के रूप मे लड़ा और और उस समय के काँग्रेस मंत्री को परास्त किया । यह पुरस्कार एक श्रद्धांजलि है उनकी विचारधारा और उनके समाज में योगदान के लिए ।
